A new short story has been born. Ingrid finished writing and editing "The Deviants" in late August and began pitching the story to major magazines, including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Washingtonian, and Harvard Review. Fingers crossed! Word is expected in three to four months. Here is a synopsis:
What if the world were homosexual? What if Madam and Eve were the first two people on earth and all of God’s children were conceived the same way his own son was? The president and First Gentleman would lead the country. The ins and outs of homosexuality would be taught in school. Moms and moms and dads and dads would prepare their children for same-sex marriage. And if a young man and a young woman happened to find themselves attracted to each other, God forbid, they would be considered the deviants.

Join me in celebrating the new Kat Vespucci review (books one and two) by book reviewer and fabulous, feminist Claire S. Gould: http://bit.ly/X69lSp. Claire makes keen observations, including, "Unlike most fictional stories about an American’s experience abroad, the heroine of the Kat Vespucci series doesn’t seek to 'find herself' in other countries or to 'save' the natives." In honor of this expert analysis, I've dropped the price of Earth to Kat Vespucci on Kindle to 99¢ until 11:55pm on Tuesday, 1/15. (The review links to the sale.) So, please enjoy Claire's critique, show her some love by posting comments, and take advantage of ETKV for 99¢.

It's the tail end of another year, and what a year it was for me as Ingrid Anders! In 2011, I was invited to speak at my high school's National Honor Society induction ceremony, interviewed on television by Rich Massabny on "Conversations with Rich" in Fairfax, Virginia, and interviewed by Danielle K. on her literary blog, Mercurial Musings, and James Stratford on his life coaching blog, Beyond the Call. Friends and fans sent pictures of ETVK from Australia, Spain, Los Angeles, Russia, New Orleans, Singapore, India, Taiwan, and Afghanistan. As if that wasn't exciting enough, I finished writing the first draft of my second novel, Kat Vespucci and the Renegade Province. I will keep you posted on the editing process and search for a publisher in 2012. Thank you for your interest!
